New Year Party In DC Metro

By Mansoor Razaque:
The Capital Post.

To celebrate New Year’s Eve 2011, an event was hosted by Manish Sood and Deepa Shahani of Intense entertainment in the Washington DC metro area. They already have a number of successful events to their credit, which include concerts showcasing Atif Aslam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Imran Khan, H. Dhami, Culture shock, etc. Another successful night can now be added to this list of events.

The New Year Eve 2012 celebration was hosted at Bombay Tandoor in Vienna; entry tickets were already sold out three days in advance. The event was kicked off at 8:00 p.m. by the hosts who extended a warm welcome to the guests, followed by appetizers and refreshments. Several entertainment activities had been organized including games, Lucky draws, bollywood dancing, belly dancing, etc.

Entertainment activities were followed by music with a live DJ, open dance floor and a lavish dinner buffet; the main course included over ten entrees followed by a big dessert selection and drinks flowed reely throughout the evening. At midnight, the ball dropped and everyone wished each other a happy new year followed by non-stop dancing by guests. The event concluded with raffle draws where the winners were awarded prizes.

Those who attended the event to celebrate New Year's Day said they're ready to bring on 2012. "The new year party was great. We got a chance to hang out with friends." said one guest. Another said “Great ood and great entertainment! Lets hope the year ahead turns out as great as this party”.

When asked about new year’s resolutions, one resident said "I think I'm just going to try to stop smoking and eat a little healthier, but not tonight”, he said jokingly.

"New Year's resolutions. I think um I don't know. New Year's esolutions? Do people still make those?" a Vienna resident said. “2012 - I'm looking forward to it. I'm a grad student and I'm graduating in May and I'm very excited. So yeah, I'm looking forward to 2012," a student said.

What made this event stand out was that it was family friendly. The event was attended not only by singles but also families with children; it was a mixed crowd with people who enjoyed themselves immensely.

As a new year’s resolution, Intense entertainment has promised to entertain us with even better events throughout this year with famous Bollywood singers, performers and actors. We look forward to the year ahead and having them fulfill their promise.
