WASHINGTON - Prosecutors with special counsel Robert Mueller's team released a highly anticipated memo Tuesday evening, detailing the level of cooperation from Michael Flynn, the president's former National Security Advisor.
The 13-page memo details Flynn's "substantial assistance" in the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and includes a recommendation that he be given a low sentence.
The first portion of the document includes background in the case and the accusations Flynn pleaded guilty to last year, which included lying to the FBI.
A second portion of the memo includes a more in-depth look at the information Flynn shared with investigators, including that he gave information in "several ongoing investigations."
Much of the second portion of the document is redacted.
