The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, on Tuesday night unveiled the bust of Muhammad Ali Jinnah at a British Museum in London. The bust will be installed by the Pakistan High Commission, London, at the prestigious Lincoln’s Inn to mark the 70th Independence of Pakistan.
Khan posted images of the unveil on Twitter, saying he was “proud to unveil this bronze bust to honour the great Muhammad Ali Jinnah.”
Lincoln’s Inn, where Jinnah trained as a barrister, will be the permanent home of the bust.
In a video message shared by Pakistan Mission UK on Twitter, Khan said he was “proud to take part in this event, particularly as someone of Pakistani heritage.”
“Jinnah is a pivotal figure in history, but he’s also still an inspiration to us today – not just to Pakistanis but to millions around the world as a champion of democracy, women’s rights and religious freedom. He will always be someone millions admire,” he added.
