Malala trolls Indians at 2019 World Cup opening ceremony

Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai represented Pakistan in the 60-second challenge, during the opening ceremony of 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

Pakistan finished on seventh place with 38 points, during the gully game which was won by hosts England, while India finished last with only 19 points.

Sharing her thoughts after the conclusion of the challenge, Malala said: "Pakistan, we were okay, not too bad, came number 7 but India came last!

She further stated: "But India played really well. They tried their best and we appreciate their hard work."

Malala also encouraged women to take active interest in cricket while also mentioning Pakistan woman cricketer Sana Mir as an inspiration.

"These role models, such as Sana Mir, are inspiring women to believe in themselves that they are capable of anything. Women should engage more in sports and we all have to contribute in that," she said.

The 2019 World Cup is scheduled to begin on May 30, with the first match between England and South Africa at The Oval in London.
