IIFA Festival, the biggest international Bollywood celebration, returns to the USA this year.

By Mansoor Qureshi:
The event that debuted in the year 2000 as The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards and grew into a widely watched celebration of Bollywood movie awards, is coming back to the United States of America for the second time. †

The iconic Metlife stadium in New Jersey has been selected by the organizers, Wizcraft International, to host the two-day Bollywood celebration on July 14-15 this year.
When asked why they chose New York, Andre Timmins of Wizcraft commented that they've wanted to come back to the USA after 2014ís event in Tampa, Florida. Since Mumbai and New York are perceived as very similar cities and people in the Hindi film industry love New York, they decided on New York as the host city.

Timmins also hinted at adding a Hollywood element to this yearís awards show and said thatís another reason why the celebration is being held in USA.

ďWe are doing a full mix of various talents who would never come together otherwise.Ē, Timmins commented.

The two day celebration, IIFA Festival New York will feature a press conference, a Green Carpet event & the main event IIFA Rocks. The much awaited IIFA Awards Green Carpet & IIFA Awards will be held on day two.

The festival will also include a celebration of A.R. Rahmansís 25 years in the music industry. Timmins confirmed Daljit Dosanjh will be opening the evening and various singers who have been a part of Mr. Rahmanís career will be singing along with Mr. Rahman himself.

Big bollywood stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt will be performing among others and the organizers are planning on making the event different and more interactive with the audience.

Timmins said that they have already sold over twelve thousand tickets without much advertising and are expecting a full house with 40,000 people.

ďIn Tampa we had close to 27 thousand people in the audience and in Toronto we had about 29 thousand. Itís the first time we are expecting 40 thousand. And I just want to make sure people come and enjoy themselves. Thatís the most important thing.Ē Timmins remarked.
