Not forming any new political party: Yeddyurappa

BANGALORE: Former Karnataka chief minister and BJP leader BS Yeddyurappa has ruled out forming a separate political party.

“I might have been humbled by my own party members, both at the state and the national level, but I will not leave the party or form a new political outfit in the state,” Yeddyurappa was reported as saying.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, the BJP strongman - who had to quit CM’s office after being indicted by the Karnataka Lokayukta in illegal mining case - said, “My only target is to strengthen the party’s rank and file and bring the party to power in the next Assembly Elections.”

Yeddyurappa also said that there was no possibility of early polls in the state which recently witnessed a change of CMs.

“I see no any threat to the stability of the Jagadish Shettar government,” he said.

He also made it clear that he would not vie for any party posts.
