Court stalls release of \'Parwaaz Hai Junoon\'

Upcoming Pakistani film Parwaaz Hai Junoon was caught in legal trouble last week. The wardrobe stylist of the film, Soomar Rehman, earlier told The Express Tribune that his name was not mentioned in the credits of the film teasers. New development on the case revealed that the court has restrained the release of any promotional content of the film.

A case was filed against the production banner, MD Films on Friday, April 27 and the first hearing was held on Monday, April 30.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Soomar revealed today, “The court has passed an order and stated that the production house is not allowed to release any upcoming teasers, trailers, posters or songs without mentioning my name, at least until the next hearing.”

Soomar continued that he wants the production house to issue him a public apology. “I want MD productions to tender an unconditional written apology. Apart from that I would like to receive my due credit in the film. MD Productions has a record of misusing youngsters’ talent.”

Considering the court order that has been passed against the release of any film material, it’s still unclear when viewers would be able to watch the much-awaited film.

The case was filed claiming damages and restraining order against the vice president, production head of MD Films and MD Productions. HUM TV has been also mentioned as the proforma party on the legal papers as it is the official distributor of the film Parwaaz Hai Junoon.
