Roc Nation Sports, the management company fronted by rapper Jay-Z, has landed another high-profile client. Three of them, in fact.
Lonzo, LaMelo and LiAngelo Ball are set to sign representation agreements with Roc Nation, LaMelo's agent, former NBA player Jermaine Jackson, tells ESPN, calling it "a family decision."
"We talked to several agents, but the family had good vibes with Roc Nation," Jackson says. "I've known Jay-Z since I played for the Knicks, but this is what the kids wanted to do. Jay-Z is a master at what he does. He's global."
LaMelo Ball is among the leading candidates to be taken first overall in the upcoming NBA draft. One of Roc Nation's first tasks with the Ball brothers will be securing a shoe contract for LaMelo.
Jay-Z was named creative director for Puma Basketball in 2018, but Jackson says LaMelo is keeping his endorsement options open.
"Right now Melo is focused on the weight room and working on his game training with (his father) LaVar," Jackson says. "He's working out with Lonzo and Gelo trying to get ready for whatever comes next."
